Wavelengths of Your Song: In German Translation

Wellenlängen deines Liedes is the German translation of Wavelengths of Your Song (MQUP). The book is newly released from parasitenpresse.

Arc Poetry Magazine

The fluidity within the poems is matched by the subtle flow between them…The effect is like that of a symphony with interwoven and subtly varied musical statements, and, as in a symphony, the effect is cumulative. Arc Poetry Magazine

I took the cover photo on Grand Manan island in New Brunswick.

As part of my research focusing on Michael Zimmer’s Sardine Museum and Herring Hall of Fame, I had traveled with a friend to the island.  The resulting poems form part of Wellenlängen deines Liedes.

Michael Zimmer was the grandson of poet and librettist Hugo von Hofmannsthal. On the ferry ride over to Grand Manan I interviewed a man who had known Zimmer.

During this trip I could never have imagined that one of my island photos would form the cover image for a book in German translation.
